WSIA offers a number of publications regarding the Association and the surplus lines industry. The WSIA News is published every other month and current and past issues are available. In addition the following publications are available. Current year issues are available to the public. Prior year issues are available to WSIA members only, login and password is required.
AM Best U.S. Surplus Lines - Segment Review
The annual financial review of the surplus lines industry has been prepared annually since 1994 by the AM Best Company, through a grant by the WSIA Education Foundation. The report provides results of solvency study of surplus lines industry and reviews current industry issues. The 2015 Executive Summary, 2016 Executive Summary, 2017 Executive Summary, 2018 Executive Summary and 2019 Executive Summary are available at no charge to the public. The complete 2019 report was e-mailed to WSIA members and is also available to members online or available to members by emailing info@wsia.org. The complete report may be purchased from AM Best.
2020 Annual Report
The 2020 WSIA Annual Report includes financial results as well as an overview of the association's work on behalf of members during the last year.
Emerging Issues and Innovation Heat Map
The WSIA Heat Map is developed and published every two years by the committee. The most recent Heat Map was developed in early-2020. Members are surveyed to identify developing trends in the surplus lines industry and define their influence on business. The committee compiles the survey responses and from them develops the Heat Map, which identifies the predominant themes and is available to members.
WSIA incorporates the results into future planning for education program curriculum and topics, member webinars and research topics for RMI students.
