WSIA is committed to developing awareness with potential future insurance professionals about career opportunities in excess and surplus lines. A large part of that outreach is done in classrooms on college campuses. Throughout the year, committed WSIA members present to students, Gamma Iota Sigma chapters and insurance symposiums to spread the word that the surplus lines industry offers challenging, dynamic careers. During the last year, more than 2,300 college students were engaged in presentations by WSIA industry professionals at college campuses, symposiums and GIS events. WSIA is pleased to partner with Gamma Iota Sigma, the risk management, insurance and actuarial studies fraternity, to allow use of its career center to WSIA members at a discounted rate. This easy-to-use online portal offers employers a way to highlight their internship and entry-level job opportunities in a centralized location and allows students to post their resumes and search for jobs online.
